ZERO Corp. Acquires Assets of EG&G Birtcher Inc.LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1997--ZERO Corp. (NYSE/PSE:ZRO) Wednesday announced that it has acquired the assets of EG&G Birtcher Inc. of El Monte, Calif., from EG&G Inc.
EG&G Birtcher is a leading manufacturer of locking printed circuit card guides and printed circuit card extractors, which are used both to secure printed circuit cards in their enclosures and to improve the overall thermal performance of electronic assemblies. EG&G Birtcher also supplies custom heatsinks to industrial markets.
Birtcher was founded in 1936, and was acquired by EG&G in 1984, becoming EG&G Birtcher. Its calendar 1997 revenues are expected to be approximately $8.5 million. EG&G Birtcher will become part of ZERO's system packaging operations and will move to ZERO's existing El Monte facility.
